CALA VIOLINA

Tuscany

The beach of Cala Violina, one of the most beautiful and evocative in Maremma and the whole of Tuscany, is located in the Natural Reserve of Bandite di Scarlino, halfway between Punta Ala and Follonica. It is just over 20 kilometers from Salvapiano Holiday Ranch and is worth visiting to admire the transparent sea and its very fine white sand, made up of tiny quartz grains.

Cala Violina: How to Get There

It is undoubtedly fascinating in the summer, but it is during the low season that walking on the beach finally clarifies the phenomenon behind its name. If there are no other sources of sound, in fact, while walking on the sand, you can hear a sound, similar to that released by the strings of a violin.

How to get to Cala Violina beach? Starting from Salvapiano Holiday Ranch, you need to reach Follonica and then take the coastal road SP158 delle Collacchie. After skirting the marina of Puntone di Scarlino, you will pass the canal and start a short climb that after 3 km will lead you to the junction for Cala Violina and its parking area.

If you love trekking and are not daunted by somewhat challenging hikes, there are many well-marked trails in the area, rich in truly spectacular panoramic points. Ask our staff for information: you will get the most appropriate advice to choose the itinerary that suits your abilities and needs.

Cala Violina is a Tuscan beach that offers the same sensations and emotions as Caribbean shores, along with a sense of gratitude towards nature for creating such a magical and spectacular environment. There are no beach establishments or seaside restaurant terraces at this Maremma beach: it’s a corner where you find yourself face to face with nature, admiring the beauty created in geological eras.

To preserve this wonder, in the summer period, a maximum of 700 people per day can reach the beach. Booking is required, and it is absolutely forbidden to leave waste or damage the flora and fauna of the place. The cost of the booking fee is symbolic per person, except for children up to 12 years old who can enter for free.

A few, simple rules ensure that this enchanted place remains so, now and in the future.
